Department of Biology

The Department of Biology at Naresuan University accepted its first undergraduates in 1967 with B.Ed. (Biology) then changed into B.Sc. (Biology) in 1981. Graduate studies in the Biology Department involve two main subjects; Biological Sciences, which was established in 2002 and Biotechnology program which was established in 2005. As of 2020, we have over 300 bachelor and 30 graduate students, 26 academic staff and 6 supporting staff. Students who graduated from our department have the experience to be bio-entrepreneurs or participate in both government and private sectors as well as jobs related to biological sciences or biotechnology, such as academic researchers, biotechnologists, university lecturers, microbiologist, research scientists, laboratory technician, school teachers, ecologists, animal physiologists, genetic counselors, science writers, consultants, veterinary nurse, and zoologists, etc.

The Department of Biology has outstanding research in conservation and the utilization of sustainable biodiversity by using research in biotechnology as well as application of biomolecules in various fields. Continuing research and development-innovation for biological business (Bio-business) for the biological economy (Bioeconomy) supporting the national strategy for research and development.

  • นักวิทยาศาสตร์
